Paladin Manufacturing and St. Lucia's Free Zone Management Authority have combined forces to bring manufacturing to St. Lucia.  Originally designed as a duty-free wholesale park, the St. Lucia free zone offers numerous advantages to manufacturing companies.  Materials are imported into the free zone duty-free.  Additionally, finished products can be exported into the USA duty-free under the Caribbean Basin Initiative (CBI).

While the St. Lucia labor rate falls between that of Mexico and China, the total cost of operation is actually less.  This is including freight and overhead items such as rent, electricity and management/technical salaries.

As a "Near Shore" manufacturing center, St. Lucia offers other benefits:

  • Stable educated work force
  • English as a first language
  • Eastern US time zone
  • Currency pegged to the US dollar
  • Easy travel from the US
  • Excellent transportation logistics
  • Security of intellectual property
